Display That Placard Proudly

Maker of porcelain dolls invents an innovative storage sleeve for parking placards.

Sandra Hulbert is a world-renowned maker of delicate dolls, but now she has applied her creative talents to the world of parking placards. The result is the Handi Visor Holder, a unique storage sleeve that is easily attachable to any vehicle and will hold all types of parking passes, such as handicap parking permits.

The holder, which easily attaches to the passenger-side sun visor, is a clear sleeve that rotates into view, displaying the parking or handicapped placard in plain sight while the car is parked, and rotates back out of view for easy storage. This allows the driver to avoid creating potentially hazardous blind spots by hanging a parking placard on the rearview mirror while driving (which is illegal). The practical design of the Handi Visor Holder makes it ideal not only for the disabled, but also for state and government workers, hospital personnel, college students and teachers, and anyone else whose profession or community requires the use of parking permits. Inspiration for Hulbert’s invention came from her husband, Warren, who uses a handicap parking placard.

“Warren has limited mobility in his arms and shoulders,” says Hulbert, “making it difficult and frequently painful for him to constantly maneuver the placard on and off the rear view mirror.”
