How to defrost and clean an ice-covered freezer.

You know the condition: Your freezer has developed icy layers reminiscent of ancient Antarctic icebergs. It’s far too cumbersome to chip away at the freezing growth. And if you let it go, the goods in your freezer may become Ice Age-reminiscent time capsules.

The best way to fully fix this freezer dilemma is to remove all the contents (put them into a cooler), turn off the power and use towels and a bucket of hot water to speed up the defrosting process. With clean, dry towels, wipe up the remaining water. Then turn the freezer back on, let it cool fully and return items to their fresh new home!
